Chelsea posing for the cameraChelsea Martin has been doing art since her middle school years. It started as doodles in the margins in her notebooks, and grew from there. As she realized her talent, she decided to enroll in more art classes to try to develop it, culminating in a year of Advanced Placement Studio Art in her senior year of high school.

Ms. Martin has always enjoyed and appreciated the fine arts, but she had a special flair for the digital arts as well. Throughout high school she continued to produce digital works of art using programs such as Paint Shop Pro, Photoshop, and Corel Painter.

Unfortunately, as she started her college years, Ms. Martin simply could not find the time to do the big digital works of art like she used to. But that did not stop her from attending the art classes her private liberal arts college offered her. It was in her first year of school at Mount Holyoke College in South Hadley, MA, that she discovered her love for oil painting. The techniques learned in that single class have been invaluable to her artistic style.

She has recently started studying art at Lake Washington Technical College in Kirkland, WA, where she plans to achieve an Associates of Applied Science in Multimedia Design and Production. Having already been self-taught in Photoshop and basic art, she has skipped the beginner level classes and plans a completion of her degree in March 2010 at the latest.

Directly after she completes her AA at Lake Washington Technical, Ms. Martin intends to pursue her Bachelor's degree from Cornish College of the Arts in Seattle, WA, where she will major in Visual Communication Design. She plans to enroll for Fall semester in 2010 as a transfer student and complete her degree by 2012.

Ms. Martin is fluent in the following programs
in both Macintosh and PC platforms:

  • Adobe Photoshop
  • Adobe Illustrator
  • Adobe ImageReady
  • QuarkXPress
  • Jasc Paint Shop Pro
  • Corel Painter
  • Microsoft Frontpage
  • Microsoft Word
  • Microsoft Powerpoint
  • Microsoft Excell
